SBCPAA Makes Contribution to YouthHope Foundation

The San Bernardino County Public Attorneys Association (SBCPAA) recently presented a donation of food, toiletries and $200 in restaurant gift cards to Heidi Mayer, executive director of Redlands-based YouthHope Foundation.

Making the presentation were San Bernardino County public defender Tony Kimbirk, vice president of the SBCPAA, and public defender Sam Knudsen.

YouthHope is a nonprofit agency that works with homeless, runaway and underserved youth. The agency provides food, medical care and housing to teens and young adults and focuses on long-term development and providing youth with the tools they need to be successful.

The organization, which Mayer founded in 2009, has worked with some 1,200 youth in the past year.

YouthHope Foundation relies on donations of food, goods and volunteers, and the SBCPAA has supported YouthHope in the past.

Mayer said there had been only four items on YouthHope’s shelves when she left the office to pick up the SBCPAA donation.
