Douglas Poston

Since 1996, Douglas Poston has been a Deputy District Attorney. Currently assigned as the Lead DDA of the Consumer and Environmental Protection Unit in San Bernardino County, Doug has handled all levels of civil and criminal cases & has tried everything from petty thefts to multiple capital murders.

In addition to his role as a prosecutor, Doug has taught numerous classes for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department, San Bernardino Valley College, and instructed new Deputy DAs in both San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Doug has also volunteered for nearly twenty years as an attorney scorer and coordinator for San Bernardino County’s high school Mock Trial program.

In 2006, Doug became a Labor Representative for SBCPAA, representing the Union’s membership in all phases of labor, discipline and MOU-related matters, including as a principal at the Public Employment Relations Board and the 4th District Appellate Court. Doug has been the Senior Labor Representative for the past six years; in that capacity, Doug coordinates representation, interfaces with managers, Human Resources and outside counsel, personally represents members, and mentors other labor reps. Doug was formerly the Chair of the Association’s Political Action Committee, and continues to serve on that committee as a member.

Prior to becoming a Deputy DA, Douglas worked as house counsel for State Farm Insurance Company.
